Balance is an important facet to any lifestyle. It is important college students know how to balance their partying and studying. It is also important that working parents know how to effectively balance a career and a family. I can proudly and honestly say that my parents have done an excellent job at balancing their careers with raising a family. Balance is key to a happy and healthier life and it has given me much success throughout my life. After witnessing my parents work, workout, raise and family, and make time for themselves, I have developed the same skills to effectively balance my schedule. My parents are extremely well-balanced and this is something I value. Throughout high school I have been apart of several clubs and activities. I participated in activities I enjoyed, such as French Club, Honor Society, and Dance Team. Junior year of high school, I was treasurer of French Honor Society, where I collected and managed membership dues. Senior year, I was elected President of French Club. As President, I organized and led meetings as well as increased membership and expanded students' passion for French. I was also treasurer of National Honor Society where I coordinated fundraising activities and established and managed the weekly agenda. Lastly, I was captain of my dance team. As captain, I choreographed competition dances and led and organized weekly practices. With all of these activities and clubs on my plate, I still made time for my friends, work, and my family. I would make sure I spent the weekends with my friends and family. I would also make sure I worked out at least 4-5 days a week. Although my schedule was extremely busy, I was able to manage it extremely well by making to-do lists and having a daily planner. I would get home from my busy school day and start my homework right away. Having a lot on your plate means you have to know how to balance your workload. Due to this, I would start studying for exams several days in advance because I knew how busy my weeks were. This is a trait I developed from my parents. I would watch my mom get up in the morning, attend work, come home, eat dinner with the family, work out, and then plan her day for tomorrow. Her ability to balance her busy work schedule along with working out and spending quality time with the family, has shown me that anything is possible. I believe I have developed a balance life schedule and do not place too much of an emphasis on one aspect of my life.
